The Sun, the Moon, and the Coming Spring!

“This is what the Lord says, he who appoints the sun to shine by day, who decrees the moon and stars to shine by night, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar— the Lord Almighty is his name!” Jeremiah 31:35

Our wonderful Creator, in his magnificent splendor and awesome wisdom, made the sun to warm us, the moon to brighten our nights, and also designed the earth to rest and reawaken with Spring. As we ponder these amazing truths, celebrate them with your children with the help of the Preschool Post’s January lesson plans on the sun, moon, and planets. These lessons offer simple ways to teach your children fundamental early childhood skills, while incorporating truths about our amazing God. While you’re there, we hope you enjoy our February lesson plans, which are all about fun, favorite stories, and fairy tales. And of course, it’s not too early to plan your Spring-themed preschool lessons, and we have lots of ideas to help, from butterflies and creepy-crawlies to Earth Day lessons and stewardship. We hope the Preschool Post helps you connect with and enjoy teaching your preschool children, and remember to tell your friends about our lessons!

And don’t forget to check out the resources available at Groovy Storytimes! Groovy Storytimes offers, you guessed it, free story time ideas and lessons that use your child’s favorite stories and library books to teach a Bible story or Christian theme. Lots of fun ideas there! Here is an example of one of the storytime lessons, an excellent resource with a winter weather theme: A Little Bit of Winter – a Winter Storytime.

Blessings to you and to your children!

Valentine’s Day Lessons

Romans 8:38-39 “Yes, I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor ruling spirits, nothing now, nothing in the future, no powers, nothing above us, nothing below us, nor anything else in the whole world will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (New Century Version)

Totally Tots

Have you heard the news? There is a brand new, amazing CHRISTIAN website, that is completly and totally about teaching TOTS! Totally Tots is run by Carisa Hinson, a former preschool teacher turned homeschooling mom of 2, who had this amazing idea, (read: vision from God) to start up a website that helps all us parents of of TOT school aged children teach our children with Christian values.

Anyway, back to the site….it’s really amazing, there are lots of Christian Mom’s working very hard behind the scenes to deliver relevant topics that you will find very useful in your day-to-day goings about. My favorite so far are the Bible Bites section, which provides you small yet effective ways to incorporate the bible into your TOT school, and the Getting Real with God section which is a nice little Bible reflection for Me (and other mom’s, but they’re so spot on sometimes I think their talking directly to me….especially this post on The Big Bad Wolf.)

What is a Tot exactly? Any child 12-36 months of age, so when you read TOT, think Toddler! So, when you get an extra second today, make sure you head on over to Totally Tots, and check out all the other fantastic categories they have (Giggle Time, Crafty Corner, Simply Made and lots more!)

Be sure and Subscribe to their RSS feed so you can have their posts delievered directly to your email or feed page, they have a new post almost every day, and you’ll want to keep up with the amazing things going on over there!
